PALME D'OR D'HONNEUR STUDIO GHIBLI

Studio Ghibli's historic producer, Toshio Suzuki, has signed an exclusive creation for Festival de Cannes to mark the honorary Palme d'Or awarded to a cinema legend: the mythical Japanese studio embodied by a multitude of cult characters and two marvelous storytellers, Hayao Myazaki and Isao Takahata.

Ghibli is the only studio whose legend equals that of Disney. Its emergence, in just a few films, blew in a new wind and rebalanced the geography of the animation world. Porco Rosso, Pompoko, Princess Mononoké, My Neighbors the Yamadas, The Wind is Rising and The Tale of Princess Kaguya represent 4 decades of poetry and humanist and ecological commitments in some 20 feature-length films, authentically personal yet universal in scope.
